Sorella Gisseman: Week 21 -- Transfer 3

Hello all!!

This week was packed with getting ready for transfers! We had a lot of appointments before Sorella B left and now she's gone and I don't know what happened to all the people we teach. LOL (just kidding -- I got it). I'm super pumped for this transfer with Sorella S. I have a lot to learn and we are getting along very well. I will get to see Sorella B at the temple open house and I was super sad when she left -- we both cried because we became like sisters. (And she even said that and she has four sisters so she knows what it's like). But I am so excited to have Sorella S. We are getting along so well and SYLing (speaking your language) and having fun with it. I have a lot to learn from her. She is awesome.

The highlight of this week was teaching M. We taught her a lot (because her baptismal date is close) -- following the prophet, Word of Wisdom, and tithing and she COMPLETELY accepted all of them and was excited and completely understood them!!!! INCREDIBLE!

It's such a small world that your friend is cousins with Sorella R! She is awesome! She's taking over Caserte because her trainer, Sorella S, is now my companion and she is killing it. Her Italian is so good. She's seriously incredible .

1. How have your first few days gone with Sorella S?

So good!!!!

2. How was church yesterday?

Church was good! Just the usual. Sorella S translated for Relief Society and the Italians just talked over her, poor girl. I tried to warn her they would. I'll do Relief Society next time, I think. I've realized I'm a lot better at translating than I should be for my language skills.

3. What was your happiest moment this week?

Just being hyped for this transfer.

4. Tell me about a tender mercy you experienced this week.

Not getting angry while SYLing (Speaking Your Language). It's a big deal.

5. What stood out to you in your studies this week?

We didn't get a lot of studies in, if I'm being honest, because we had so much to do. One thing from DDM meeting, though, is one thing one of the Zone leaders said - you already chose this and submitted yourself to the Lord so why are you going back on that now? (not aimed at me directly -- we were just talking about Lot's wife)

6. Did you try any new or interesting foods this week? What was the best thing you ate?

Everything. Food here is so good. Also me and Sorella S are trying to be healthy girls this week so we are trying to start Whole30 (we accidentally already ate a pizza and gelato, lol).

7. Have you had any more luck finding pants? Are there any sizes or styles you want me to pick and send to you through my friend when she comes to Rome?

No. No pants. I gave up on pants. They are just kind of ugly. I want them high waisted if I get them but, like blah.

8. What have you learned about yourself recently?

I am so much more patient than I used to be!!!!!

9. Do you have any more details about the open house? When you'll be there, etc.?

February 3rd! The open house is open all day but mornings are private tours and then afternoons are open to the public. We don't know our exact schedule or anything but it's going to be a lot of work and a lot of fun!

11. What specifically can we pray for for you, your companion, and your investigators?

For the people we teach - pray for them to understand the need to act.

12. What are you doing for P-day this week?

We went to Veil of Christ and then shopping on Toledo.

13. Is saldi still going on? How long does it last?

Yes and I have no idea.
