I'll just answer questions...
1. How did the choir performance go?
So, we went out to the location. It was so awesome -- we went with V. V. and had pranzo at their parents' house and then we all went out to the location together. They're so incredible. And we sang in this Catholic church. We did practice and then sang in the Catholic church. It was really fun and then we slept at those sorrellae's house. We got home late and Sorella P has been driving and we don't have the car -- it's the anziani's car -- but we took the car and so I got to be navigator. Wow! And that was fun. It felt weird to have a car. Then we drove home this morning and it took about an hour and a half. That's the longest I've been in the front seat of a car....like, wow!
2. How is Christmas celebrated in Bari?
I don't know. I think they eat fish.
3. How have you been feeling this week?
Better.
4. Tell me about something that made you laugh this week.
My companion has just been doing little funny things. We were on the train and she had just gone to the bathroom on the train (keep in mind they're not nice) and she came back and I asked how it was. She said it was disgusting. I had to go to the bathroom so I said I was going to do that and she said a phrase that means "enjoy yourself" but her pronunciation was funny. It was funny.
5. Have you put up your Christmas decorations?
Yes.
6. Does the Italian hymnbook have the same Christmas songs as the English hymnal?
I think it does.
7. Tell me about a tender mercy you experienced this week.
What even happened this week.....? One is that we drove safely. We had one of the sorrellae from another area with us because Sorella B (my old companion) went to Palermo for her permesso, and Sorella A was with us, so we felt kind of bad because our work isn't going that well right now so we had a lot of time to go finding. We had one appointment with a less active member but then we were just finding for a lot of the day. At the very end of the night we got on the bus and someone was following me but I just assumed it was my companion, but it was Sorella A so I turned around and asked, "Where's my companion?" so we ran off the bus, which was about to leave. So we ran off the bus and she was talking to some people, and it turns out that one of them has a Book of Mormon and has met with the missionaries in the past and we gave him some things and he asked us when church started and texted us, so that was awesome. It was a tender mercy because I need that, "yeah, we did something!"
8. How did someone serve you this week?
The V's. They're super cutie. We went over to the parents' house and then they gave us a ride and I was super, super grateful for that.
9. What was the best thing you ate this week?
Probably also at that appointment. There were fresh pasta that's typical of Bari and it was really good, and meatballs. And the zucchini she made -- they were good!
10. Do you know how much your Heavenly Father loves you?
Cutie! Yes, I think so. I probably don't comprehend fully how much He loves me but I have the faith that He does.
11. What stood out to you in your studies this week?
Today my studies were so weird because I was reading in Alma 25 and 26, I believe, which are incredible missionary chapters because it talks about missionaries and the feelings they are able to capture in this chapter are just the exact feelings that I feel. There were so many parts of those chapters that spoke to me and told me things that I need to do better, told me things that I need to not worry about, so that was good.
12. What was the most beautiful thing you saw this week?
I literally don't know why I can't ever remember the weeks.... But it was a good one.
13. What can we pray for for you and the people you’re working with?
Honestly, our work is kind of dead. Well, not dead...kind of dead. There were a lot of people that we met with last transfer that haven't responded to us, and also a lot of people that they thought they were teaching that they've never said a prayer with and so wer'e kind of starting from base one, step one again. So I think just praying that we can be led to the people who are ready to hear the gospel.
Also, we got transfer calls and I'll be staying here in Bari for Christmas. I'm excited about that!!
Love you so much!
Ciao, ciao!
The a picture of me with a panzarotto that's bigger than my face....
One day we went and did district pranzo and we went to this family's house and we're going to help them go to the temple. YEA! So for district pranzo we went to the husband's pizzeria but it's not a pizzeria -- it's a pinceria (????). If you look at my pizza in the picture you'll see it's a bit different than an actual pizza. It had pesto on one half and tomatoes on one half and then in the middle there's a fat ball called a bouretino (sp?) which is a like a matza ball but filled with strachiatella cheese. Yum!!!! Buono!
One night we went out to Torani which is one of our cities, I guess, and we went with these cutie, cutie, cutie, cutie members that live here. One of them had a surgery so we went to go visit her.... She is just the cutest thing ever.
And a choir picture....
