Week 37 -- Applesauce Just isn't the Same as Gelato.....

Ok, just a brief summary of this week. I died a little bit. Got pretty sick. Like still was going to appointments and working everyday but, like, not on my game.

For P-Day today we had zone soccer and then we ate and then we went to go try to run errands because I need a new diary, like I will run out of my diary in the next week, but everything was closed so that was a hard bummer. But it's ok because I bought some eyebrow dye and some peanut butter so stay tuned. I'm very sad that your computer died but it's a good thing that mine is there, so yea! It's been so cold...like not so cold here, but it's been like 70 degrees or below. I've been wearing jackets and long sleeves...still, it's MAY, so I guess that's a good thing for the summer. I mean, I like it...the weather right now is pretty almost perfect.

I'm sorry that you have to travel so much with your job 'cause I know that it's hard on you and that's it's not like you're going to fun places, really, like Ohio?! We do have washing machines, but no dryers. We have little dryer racks. Have I had one of those days when I want lots of chocolate? That's literally every single day, seriously every single day I want chocolate but I purposely don't buy it because I then I eat it all. 'Cause I just eat all the time! Mamma mia! I'm like, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! I mean, gelato is everywhere!!!!

Because I was sick this week I didn't really need to buy any groceries because I haven't eaten anything, but today I bought some apricots and I bought like 3 peppers and then I bought a colomba which is like...I think you you had this cake for Christmas but it is a little bit different for Easter - I don't know if you ordered a panettone or what... But if you ordered the one with the little candy things in it, it's the same thing -- like cake with candies in it but it's only candy oranges and the top is coated in sugar and almonds and cute little candies -- so good. And during season when it's time to buy them, obviously they're expensive but now it was like 2 euros, so that was naughty thing that I did, but that's OK.

We just got some gelato. I asked the guy, "what's your favorite?" He's like, "nutella and chocolate, hazelnut and chocolate", and then served it for me...and I'm like, ok, I didn't really waqnt that but whatever. But it's really good. I was just feeling fruit flavors, y'know? We ate so much for lunch when I wasn't even hungry.
Lots is always happening but too much to write about it all so I will just do questions. LOL
1.  How was church today?  What stood out to you?
Church was good as always!! Something that stood out to me is something our Branch President (who is incredible, like a convert of 3 or 4 years and carries this branch) said, is that the gospel is about sacrifices. And he says it pretty often and it makes me sad because I can feel that he has sacrificed so much. But it's true at the
same time.
2.  Did you try any new foods this week?
So this week I got pretty sick so I was on the BRAT diet. Bananas. Rice. Applesauce. Toast. Yum.
3.  What did you do for P-Day today?
We had zone calcio (soccer) and then tried to look for some things like a diary but everything was closed so we got gelato and now we are here!
4.  Are you still doing your nightly gratitudes?  How are those going?  I really like doing them....
Yes I am and I think it's something that I want to keep doing like long term.
5.  Tell me about a moment you felt joy this week.
Last night we stayed up late talking (we were in bed so I don't think its apostate) and I am just realizing how far I need to come and we like learned a lot about one each other and I think for the first time I have felt peace completely in this area.
6.  Have you experienced any tender mercies this week?  Tell me about one.
I was sick every day this week basically.  But the miracle is that it would only happen in the morning before 10 and then after 10 when we needed to leave the house I was fine, like my stomach still hurt but I didn't have any issues.
7.  Tell me about the people you're working with.  What specifically can we pray for for them?
It is an interesting group. One funny story from one this week is this woman names R, we taught her the restoration as like our 2nd or 3rd lesson with her and we were talking about Joseph Smith and she told us we explained so well that we must be Joseph Smith's daughters. LOL.
8.  What stood out to you in your studies this week?
I have started the Book of Mormon over again recently, and the thing that is stressed so much is IF you obey the commandments you WILL prosper. Also we studied power and authority in our calling as a companionship, and the greatest power that we can ever have is the Holy Ghost with us.
9.  What strengths or talents have you discovered in yourself that you didn't realize before your mission?
Sometimes it is a lot easier to see weaknesses. Definitely not a talent but something I have had to do a lot of is music. Like musical numbers for zone conferences, I have to lead (and I mean basically sing for) the African branch every Sunday, and we will do another musical number this Sunday. Mamma mia. I still can't really sing.
10.  What's your current favorite scripture?
A scripture that I think just summarized my feelings for now (the whole chapter honestly), 2 Nephi 4. If I have to choose one, specifically verse 19 - "And when I desire to rejoice my heart groaneth because of my sins, nevertheless I know in whom I have trusted.
And recently I have been feeling the weight of my shortcomings more than ever, I would say. My weaknesses have been made very apparent, but I know in whom I trust. I trust in the Lord and He has trusted in me to do this. And if a man like Nephi feels this way sometimes, then I think it is okay for me to also feel like this.
11.  Do you know how much I love you?
Yes
12.  What characteristics do you love about the Italian people?  And what's your favorite thing about Italy?
They are very laid back and are okay with doing nothing and it's a thing I am trying to learn about. Favorite thing about italy - I am sorry but it's got to be the food. Its incredible. Fresh fruit and veggie markets everywhere and then also all the dolce and gelato you could imagine, I meannnnnnn....
Love you!!!!

Died this week and we had to do area book and I accidentally smacked out
