Week 50 -- Transfer Calls

So completely unexpected -- I am staying in Palermo for a 4th transfer!! Definitely was not what I expected and even stranger, my trainee is staying in the same ward as me and just moving to the little suburb city. So that's interesting. And I will be getting Sorella S to be my comp. She is in my group from the MTC so I am so excited about that.

So this week there is a wack vacation week in Italy called Ferragosto, which basically is for the ascension of Mary in heaven where they just go to the beach. So the week has been a little different. On Monday we had a shortened P-Day and then we did service with 2 districts of our zone after an incredible meal appointment where I ate way too much. We were all out here with the fullest bellies picking up trash for like 3 hours in the hot sun. And then helped E, the lady who made my African dress, clean up her shop. We also did deep cleaning (we love that), and had an African party which was really fun and this cutie cutie girl we are teaching came. I wore my African dress and President K asked if he could snap me. That's a win.

One thing that really stuck out to me in church this week was a quote from bishop. He said that gratitude isn't about thinking about the past or what we want in the future but where we are now. So focus on now and the things we have, not the things that could be!!!

Love you all --

Week 49 -- Super Short P-Day

Hello everyone...P-day is short this week and it ends at 2:00 so I don't have time to write a weekly, but I'm feeling better.  Thank you for all for your love and prayers.

XOXOXO

Sunrise on our run this morning

So we went to this place called Panino Bomba (sandwich bomb) for district lunch and wow, it was more meat than I have eaten all transfer, for 3 euros.

At least four types of meat

We did a mostra at teatro where Sorella B painted and we had a table and asked people what they would say if it was their last day. I said vi amo e ci vediamo presto (I love you and I'll see you soon)

We're in Bagheria today

Week 48 -- Italian Hawaiian Haystacks....

Sorry -- just doing questions today --

1. Tell me about the Hawaiian/tropical party!  It looks like it was fun.

It was really fun and the members really loved it. We made Hawaiian haystacks (even though some people said not to do that because the members would hate it -- and also, they weren't exactly Hawaiian haystacks because Italian ingredients) and the members LOVED them. We played this super fun game called gaga ball and it was honestly the best ward activity I've ever been to. Score. Building trust with the members.

2.  Have they scheduled a dermatology appointment for you yet?

Yes, today!!!!

3.  How are P. and J.?

Not the best but that's ok -- we keep praying!

4.  What made you smile this week?

Two nights in a row the Bagheria sorelle slept in our apartment and it's real fun and I'm SO grateful for Sorella T.

5. How was church today?  Have you worn your African dress to church?

Good! I have not worn my African dress to church yet.

6.  What are you doing for P-Day today?

We had zone P-Day so we played volleyball all together and gaga ball and now we are eating at a vegan burger place!!!!

7.  Have you seen anything new or interesting lately?

Not really

8.  What was the best thing you ate this week?

This vegan burger in about to eat

9.  Do you know how much I love you?

Yes

10. What stood out to you in your studies this week?

I've been studying the enabling power of the atonement. Learning lots! Thank you to everyone who has sent me suggestions to read!

11.  I know you eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.  What is your favorite fruit right now?

Watermelon. I bought a fat watermelon this morning.

Other things, I guess ...

I don't know if I've already updated everyone on this but we met this guy F. that we have gotten gelato with and he invited us to lunch and we planned to be like, ok, our purpose, what we want with you type of thing and then we literally showed up and he was like, "I want this lunch to be spiritual" and we're like, ummmm, yeah, we brought his book for you. He was super happy and told us his goal is the temple.  Yes.

Transfer calls are in two weeks....will I be moving to a new area?  Who knows.  I can't remember anything at happened this week!!

We had a scambio and had a incontro but like good lesson.
